Triangle of Value — Food Systems Development

In collaboration with the UNDP Accelerator Lab, SAS developed and tested the "Triangle of Value," a food-systems model linking Farmer Producer Organizations, Consumer Cooperatives, and finance through coordinated demand, supply, and investment. The horticulture pilot connected three consumer cooperatives in Khartoum State with one FPO in the Gezira Scheme, supported an offtake arrangement, and engaged Ebdaa Bank around production and consumption finance. The work later expanded into nationwide cooperative mapping, identifying more than 2,000 cooperatives across Sudan as a foundation for future market-system interventions.
